Admitted as a member by Rotary International on 15th September 2021, the Rotary Club of Chennai Riviera is Chennai’s first rotary club to bring the shift towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

An archipelago is a group of islands that may or may not share the same features. Chennai Riviera is also one such archipelago having people from all walks of life but coming under one big umbrella of rotary international.

We have concentrated our efforts heavily in the avenues with a focus that corresponds to 5 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals because we believe the needs of the present should not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

In order to achieve sustainability, we must balance three factors equally – the economical , social, and the environmental factors .

We are in the process of forming a Rotaract with Mohamed Arts and Science College, Thoraipakkam. We also plan to adopt Mullpakkam village in Thiruporur. After visiting the village and understanding their requirements we have lined we up a few projects:
1. Project called Project Rozgaar- a skill development project, Rozgaar means ” earning your livelihood”, We will train the needy to learn a skill to be financially independent.

2. Another interesting project we have is called Sales made Easy where training will be provided to small businesses on how to sell their products online.

3. Build a Library for students in the Mullpakkam village to prepare them for Competitive exams. We plan to Provide books that can be of help in competitive exams and replenish them every year to keep the books updated for each year.

We believe that change begins with each of us. Each one of us can transform the world by making mindful choices. Our voices matter and let’s take action step by step and hand in hand. Together we can create a better tomorrow.
